The Lincoln Log Cabin Penny is the hottest coin in the United States right now. Key Date Lincoln Cents usually discusses rare lincoln cents, but today I am going to discuss the 2009 Lincoln log cabin penny.

Lincoln Log Cabin Penny

In 2009, the United States Mint will be issuing four new Lincoln cent designs which depict four different stages of Lincoln’s life. The first of these new lincoln cent designs was released to the public on February 9, 2009, Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. The United States Mint launched this new Lincoln Log Cabin Penny in Hodgenville, Kentucky, Lincoln’s birthplace. No one knows for sure how many Lincoln Log cabin cent rolls were released in Hodgenville, Kentucky, but coin collectors around the country are doing everything in their power to get their hands on one of these new 2009 lincoln cents. Check out the ebay listings below for some of these Lincoln log cabin pennies currently on sale at ebay.

2009 will be the year of Lincoln. Except for the attention that President Obama will get this year, President Lincoln will receive the second most attention of any President. The media is doing specials covering the life of Abraham Lincoln, coin collecting magazines are writing tons of articles about these new 2009 lincoln cents and the Lincoln cent series. The United States Mint is releasing a Lincoln Silver Dollar commemorating Lincoln and his Gettysburg Address.

Listed below you will see some of the Lincoln log cabin pennies on sale at ebay. It has been a long time since the Lincoln cent design has been changed. I think that the 2009 Lincoln log cabin penny and the other 2009 lincoln cents will make the Lincoln cent series hot this year. This should also mean that the key date lincoln cents should go up in demand.

The 1914 D Lincoln Cent is one of four key date lincoln cents. 1,193,000 1914 D cents were produced by the Denver Mint in 1914. This is the third lowest number of lincoln cents produced for a lincoln cent. This low mintage number and the low number of 1914 D lincoln cents that were saved causes this coin to be a key date for the lincoln coin series.

1914 D Lincoln Cent

Because lincoln cent prices are fairly low, most lincoln cent collectors collect these 1914 D lincoln cents in grades from Very Fine to Mint State. In VF-20, Lincent cent prices for the 1914 D are around $550. Once you get into the Mint State grades the lincoln cent prices for the 1914 D Lincoln Cent are much higher at around $4000 for a MS-63 1914-D Lincoln Cent.
